Erratum: Targeted 2-Agonist Therapy
An editorial published in the September 15, 2005, issue of AJRCCM (Ind PW. Bigger may be better: targeted 2-agonist therapy. Am J Respir Crit Care Med 172:656657) described an article by Usmani and colleagues (Usmani OS, Biddiscombe MF, Barnes PJ. Regional lung deposition and bronchodilator response as a function of 2-agonist particle size). However, because of a production error, that article did not appear in the September 15 issue of AJRCCM. The article described in the editorial does appear in this issue of the Journal (pp. 14971504).
The text, as well as Reference 4, of the editorial indicates that the Usmani article on regional lung deposition appeared on pages 704712 of the September 15 issue. However, this citation is incorrect: an article on a different topic by Usmani and his colleagues appears on those pages (Usmani OS, Ito K, Maneechotesuwan K, Ito M, Johnson M, Barnes PJ, Adcock IM. Glucocorticoid receptor nuclear translocation in airway cells after inhaled combination therapy). This article did not have an associated editorial.
We apologize to Dr. Ind and to Dr. Usmani and colleagues for the confusion this has caused; they were not responsible for the error.
