Notice of duplicate publication

Carlos Perez-Guzman, Alfredo Torres-Cruz, Hector Villarreal-Velarde, and Mario H. Vargas published a paper in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in 2000 (1). The following year, the authors published a paper in the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (2). Although the second article contains subtle differences from the first article, it is the judgement of Michael Iseman, M.D., Editor of the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, and myself that the overlap between the two manuscripts represents duplicate publication.
