Pressure–volume curves in acute respiratory distress syndrome

In our recently published article (1), an inadequate correction of 100 was used instead of 1,000 to express time constant in seconds. As a result, the values reported are in seconds x 10, not in seconds. For a better presentation, the values given in the RESULTS section should be corrected by dividing by 10, resulting in an average time constant of 0.38 ± 0.18 seconds with ZEEP, and of 0.24 ± 0.15 seconds with PEEP. In the same manner, the scale of the X-axis of Figure 7 should be divided by 10, a correction which obviously does not change the relationship.
